About La Maison Neuve

Maison Neuve has three bedrooms and sleeps up to seven people.

Living room

South facing, the large living room is usually filled with sunlight and the shuttered window and door look out onto the neighbouring farm buildings. It's beamed ceiling and half-timbered walls are typical of the Vendeen style. (17ft x 16ft).

Electric radiator. There is a radio, CD and tape player together with a DVD player and screen.

Kitchen and Dining Room

(15ft x 14ft) Again, typically Vendeen, it is light and airy. The dining area has a large wooden farmhouse table and wicker seated chairs. The kitchen is stocked, as you would expect, with a large fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, microwave, coffee machine etc. Electric radiator. Plenty of cutlery, crockery, glasses and saucepans are supplied.

Main bedroom

On the first floor, the main bedroom faces over the front of the house, looking south east. It's large shuttered window gives delightful views over the surrounding countryside. There is a pine double bed, bedside table, chest of drawers, wardrobe and easy chair.

Bedroom two

Next door, with its exposed beams and a south-facing shuttered window, the second bedroom contains two single beds and is another sun-filled room in the morning. The room also has a velux window in the roof, a chest of drawers, wardrobe and easy chair. Electric radiator. (14ft x 8ft)

Bedroom three

Similar to bedroom 2 but with two full size, single pine bunk beds, chest of drawers, table and chair. Electric radiator. (12ft x 8ft)

Duvets and pillows are provided. There is also a Z bed, which increases the accommodation to seven people.

Bathroom

The bathroom includes a shower cubicle, handbasin, WC, bidet and a bath. Electric towel rail

Outside

At the front of the house is a quiet, safe driveway that only serves the few houses in 'our village'. There is a large area of grass for ball games immediately opposite..

At the back is a sunny patio and lawn, which has extensive views across open countryside. There is a large table, eight garden chairs and a barbeque. Facing west, it is excellent for evening sunsets with a glass of local wine. We provide equipment for garden games.

A very short distance away is a local lake, perfect for an evening stroll.

Our neighbours

Forget all that you've heard about the French being unfriendly. Our neighbours are wonderful.

Next door are Mickael and Stephanie with their young sons Louis and Germain. Mickael is a headmaster in the local school and Stephanie is also a schoolteacher. They speak English and will make you very welcome.

Gilles and Annie live in a bungalow nearby. Gilles speaks good English and is well known for sharing a bottle (or two) of their own wine with our holidaymakers.

Our community is completed by Nicholas and Teddy in one house and Marie in the other.
